Online Training Course with L.A.A. Educator and Lymphoedema Practitioner Pauline Wallace.

Initially I had planned to do The Complex Decongestive Therapy Course with the Lymphoedema Academy of Australia in Brisbane2020. Due to COVID-19 and the many restrictions to travel this was not possible. Travelling from Alice Springs, taking time off work and the expense in airfares, accommodation and payment for the course itself all seemed impossible!

Course instructor Pauline Wallace was not to be beaten – and so came into existence the first on-line Complex Decongestive Therapy Course. I must commend Pauline for her enthusiasm and hard work. 

There was constant communication and updates regarding dates, times and practice sessions with our ‘zooming’. Pre-reading material and access to well-known speakers on-line were made available to students even before the course started. Any and all questions were answered in a professional and timely manner.

The course itself was well presented, with ample time for questions and discussion. Pre reading and assignments were presented prior to the course starting date. A work book was made available that we were able to do together.

The information covered included anatomy, physiology, pathology, Lymphatic & Circulatory System, compression bandaging and support garments.

Instructional video’s demonstrating massage and bandaging techniques were made available and can be retrieved through our on-line, log in with Lymphoedema Academy of Australia.

It’s always good to have the practical ‘hands on sessions’, but I can now do this in my own time with reference video’s, written instruction and Pauline is an ongoing source of information who has already helped me with advice regarding treatment options for a difficult client.

I can thoroughly recommend this on-line course. In addition, it has saved me a huge amount of money in travel, accommodation and time off work. Thank you Pauline Wallace!

I attended the Level 1 course in the Hunter Valley (NSW) 18 months ago as there were no equivalent
courses in WA for Health Professionals.

After completing the course Pauline Wallace, the L.A.A. trainer, organised to come to Perth to do
level 2 which I attended with several other health professionals from Public and private health
services around the State.
 
Pauline presented a very lively and practical approach to her trainings and is very passionate in the
management of Lymphoedema and lipoedema.

The networking opportunities with the other students was invaluable and we came away with a lot
of knowledge to use in our practices.
 
Pauline is very supportive of student’s individual needs and is easy to contact for advice and
information. I would recommend the Lymphoedema Academy of Australia and its courses to any
health professionals and carer organisations wishing to undertake training in Lymphoedema

Hi Pauline, just wanted to thank you for your Lymphoedema course I attended in September 2014 in Brisbane. Being a lady with issues after cancer and having a double mastectomy left me with some problems and never having any help with lymphoedema. I now know how to help myself with self care management thanks to you. Also if I new there was help out there I would have been in touch long before. I was so glad I found your advertisment for the Level 1 lymphoedema course and have completed. I am looking forward to doing the Level 2. There are so many people out there Pauline like myself that go with out any help. 

Being and A.I.N. I was so pleased that I was accepted to do the course, as no other organisation would take an A.I.N. I am looking forward to working with and helping others in the community with lymphoedema.
